The final two tracks feel like an exhale. Seething is a probing late-night house track that eventually sees its outer layers disintegrate to leave the skeletal rhythms of Benmore Avenue working hard to bring the cassette to a stop. It’s a final, defiant recognition of the solace Levi Love finds late at night, in sweaty city bars or in basement clubs. More than that, though, it’s a reminder to himself perhaps of who he is and who his mother sculpted, a producer, DJ and artist who’ll continue to see life as being for the living, and the communities that bind around music. As a tribute goes, it doesn’t get more fitting than that.
